This edition of Five Questions and Quick Hitters is with Mallory Miller, who is one of the top 2023s still open in the region. She is a Senior this year at Wolsey-Wessington High School. Thanks for your time Mallory!

1. Congrats on your recent milestone of 1,000 kills in Volleyball! How is the season going to this point, and what have been some of your highlights from this season?

Thank you. This season has been very fun. Volleyball, for me, isn’t a passion. I prefer to have fun and work hard because there are girls on my team who love volleyball and I want to work hard for them. My favorite memory from this season has been when Coach Uttecht was doing the griddy in the lockeroom before our game.

2. On October 15th you will be at the Prep Girls Hoops Dakotas Top 250 Expo. What are some of the skills you're hoping to showcase, and have you had the chance to attend other camps during the summer and early fall?

Actually, I will be participating in the Prep Girls Top 250 Expo in Kansas City this year because my sister who plays basketball at Dodge City has a scrimmage in Kansas City the same weekend. I have attended the University of Omaha Elite Camp and the Butler University Elite Camp.

3. You have had a lot of interest in offers, including several Division I schools. When are you hoping to make your college choice and what are some of the biggest factors in a school and athletic program that will impact that decision?

I am being very thorough in looking for my perfect fit for college. I will make a decision when I know it is time and it feels right. My biggest factor in choosing the right school is culture. Also, I would like a school that has a good medical program and high student placement into medical school.

4. As you head into your Senior year of hoops at Wolsey-Wessington, what are some of your team goals, and do you have any individual goals you're still trying to reach?

My team goal is making it to state and making each other better along the way. An individual goal of mine this year is to demonstrate leadership.

5. When you graduate, you will have some time between the end of school and when you leave for college. Do you have any special places you're hoping to visit or things you want to do during that break?

Nothing specific yet, but I would love to travel a little bit before I leave for college.
