This edition of Five Questions and Quick Hitters is with Brooke Jensen, a Division I prospect who played club hoops with SD Attack and is a Sophomore this season at Vermillion High School (SD). Thanks for your time Brooke!

1. You recently had an unoffical visit to North Dakota and while you were on campus you also picked up your first Division I offer. Congratulations on the offer, and what were some of the places you got to visit while on campus?

While I was at North Dakota we got to visit the gym where they play games and practice, we also got to see their locker room, weight room, and the facilities/arenas where they play football and hockey and got to attend a football and hockey game which was a great atmosphere  I had never been to a hockey game before  and it was so fun! . We also got to experience a football tailgate on Homecoming weekend with the coaches and team which was also really fun.

2. As you continue forward in your recruiting, who are some of the people you will ask for guidance in the process, and have you had the chance to narrow down some of the key things you'll be looking at in schools and basketball programs?

Two people I ask for guidance in the recruiting process are my mom and Addy Klosterbuer. My mom helps with recruiting at USD and has done a ton of research so she knows a lot about it. Addy has recently gone through the recruiting process so she can always answer my questions when I have them. The key things I look for in a school would have to be the relationships I have with the players and coaches. I believe that the people who you are surrounded by can really impact your experience.

3. You will be attend the Prep Girls Hoops Dakotas Top 250 Expo on October 15th. What are some of the things you hope to showcase during the event, and have you had the opportunity to attend any other camps or events over the summer or fall?

I am hoping to show my outside shooting and passing skills  since I didn’t get to show a lot of that this Summer but it’s a bigger part of my game when I play with my High School team.

4. During your Freshman year Vermillion had a nice season, eventually falling to St Thomas More in the Class A SoDak 16. What are some of the expectations for this years team, and how will you be looking to build your role during your Sophomore season?

I am expecting to have another really great season this year in Vermillion, my main goal for my team is to win a state championship. I could also see my team going undefeated this year. I am looking forward to being a big leader on and off the court this year for my team. We lost our senior leader from last year and will be looking for someone to take charge of the team.

5. Last season you were with SD Attack during the club season. As you look back on the year, what were some of your favorite memories and what are some parts of your game that you worked on that you feel will help you become a stronger player moving forward?

My favorite memory about this summer was definitely the tournament we went to in Chicago. I have never been there and it was super fun seeing the city and playing against the top teams in the country. This past summer I started playing in the post for the first time since 5th grade, I feel like I really improved in that aspect. I definitely think I became a more well rounded player because of that experience.
