This edition of Five Questions is with Jocelyn Land. Jocelyn is a Division I 2024 Forward who averaged 19 PPG & 10 RPG last season at Holy Family Catholic High School (MN) and plays club ball with Minnesota Fury 2024 UAA. Thanks for your time Jocelyn!

1) You have received several Division I offers, which include recent visits and offers from Tulsa and Butler. Congrats on your opportunities! What are some of the things you're looking for in a school in terms of academics and basketball?
Thanks! And the main thing I look for in schools in honestly just the best fit. I want to be able to connect with the coaches and the team, receive a great education, while feeling at home on campus. I think after visiting schools you know once you leave the campus if some of those points fit your needs!
2) You were part of a very strong Minnesota Fury 2024 UAA team that enjoyed success all across the country. What were some of your favorite memories from the past club season?
Some of my favorite memories was just getting close as a team and hanging out a lot. I think as the season went on we all grew closer together and always had a lot of fun. Some of the best memories would have to be the away tournaments when we would hang out in each others rooms or getting dinner together.
3) Last season at Holy Family, you led a 25-5 team that fell just short in the Section Championship game. What are some of your team and individual goals for the upcoming 2022-23 season?
Some of our team goals would be to make it to state next year. After falling just short last year we are definitely ready to come out and perform to make it to state. Some of my individual goals would be to hit my 1,000 points this year, and to also lead in rebounding. I think to just trust the work I’ve put in this summer will allow me to go out there and perform my best.
4) Two years ago you were still living in Vermont. What have been the biggest adjustments you made between your Freshman and Sophomore years with the move and finding a new High School and Club Program?
Some of the biggest adjustment is just gaining trust with my teammates and coaches. After coming from a small state of Vermont my name wasn’t out there yet and no one really knew who I was. So after joining my high school program just being able to gain trust with my coach and teammates made all the difference. The change from AAU in Vermont to Minnesota was the competition you play against. I was ready to compete and was excited to play against the best but having to adjust was definitely a challenge at first.
5) You've had the chance to play in a lot of gyms in your young career. Besides your home courts, what have been some of your favorite places to play, and that can include your time out East?
Some of my favorite places to play would definitely be this year at Spooky Nook in Pennsylvania. Having your hotel connected to the gym made it so easy to watch other teams compete. We also didn’t have to wake up super early for our games which was also really nice!
