This edition of Five Questions is with Jenica Raine Lewis. Jenica is considered by many the top 2026 in the country, having just wrapped up club play with Lady Pure Prep 2023/2024, & is an incoming Freshman for State Champion Johnston HS (IA). Thanks for your time Jenica!

1) You recently completed your club season with Pure Prep 2023/2024, playing up 3 age levels. What brought you to Lady Pure Prep and what were some of your favorite moments from this past season?
I have played there since 3rd grade. I have had the best times with my teammates. My favorite moment from this past season was playing at Boo Williams.
2) You are one of the most heavily recruited 2026 players in the nation. Do you know what you will be looking for in a school in terms of basketball program and education when you start to make your college decision?
Relationships are important to me because it will be my second home. Not just the team, it's the coaches too and how they treat me. Style of play matters a lot to me too.
3) This year you'll get to make your debut at the High School level with perennial powerhouse Johnston, the defending big-school Champion in Iowa. What are some of your individual and team goals as you begin your varsity career this season?
Just to be the best player and teammate I can be. For the team, the goal is to get back to state and win it.
4) Between Elite Camps, All-Star invitations and your Club team travels, you've had the opportunity to play in many, many different gyms. What have been some of your favorite places to play so far in your young career?
Boo Williams was a great atmosphere. Puerto was an amazing time. Las Vegas was one to remember.
5) Everyone knows you for your basketball prowess, but what are some of the things you do when you take a little break from the game, what are some of your other interests?
Swimming, playing volleyball for fun, going to the park with friends. I like making tik tok and playing video games sometimes.
